This innovative sand flea fly pattern is a must-have for every saltwater fly box.Nick Vlahos submitted this fly into our 2015 fly-tying contest. We loved it so much we had to make sure everyone had a chance to use it. It's not often that one sees a sand flea imitation, but we know plenty of fish eat them: striper, bonefish, snook, and redfish being just a few. The long tails and spindly legs give it a lifelike motion in the water, certain to attract a fish or two.
